A Guide to Your First Year at Edison
Middle School Information Night
Join us for an engaging evening where students and parents can learn what to expect in middle school and how to make the transition smoother.
When:
Monday, March 31 at 6:00 PM
Thursday, April 3 at 6:45 PM (following the 5th-grade orchestra concert)
5th Grade School Visits
Over the next few weeks, school counselors will visit elementary schools to talk with students about middle school. On Tuesday, May 13, all incoming 6th graders will have the opportunity to visit the middle school, enjoy music performances, and take a guided tour of the building.
Running Start – Middle School Summer Camp
Want to start middle school with confidence? Our Running Start summer camp offers four days of fun and preparation, where students can practice using their lockers, learn their schedules, and get familiar with their new school environment.
Cost: $60 (scholarships available)

Explore the different aspects of middle school, including core classes like math, science, English, and social studies, and get a better understanding of how your daily schedule will be structured. Learn about lunch routines, where to sit, how to buy lunch, and what options are available. Discover the wide variety of music and elective choices, from band and choir to exciting encore classes that allow you to explore new interests and skills.
Middle school isn’t just about academics—it’s also about finding your passions and getting involved! Learn about before- and after-school activities, including clubs, sports, and leadership opportunities that help students build friendships and make the most of their middle school experience.
