On Thursday, April 6th, students earned a "stuffy" day from earning over 12,000 tickets as a school from our PBIS behavior system. Each child was allowed to bring in their favorite stuffed animal for the day. Great work kids!

Here are the Soaring High Flying Eagles from the first week of April! They worked hard to show off their skills of being responsible, respectful, and safe! Way to go!

Every day our 4th and 5th graders help keep our after school pick up running smoothly by assisting as safety patrol helpers. They open car doors, help keep other kids safe, send our students home with a smile and a "have a nice day!" This past week they started training our third graders until the end of the year in preparation for them doing it next year. We have really great leaders in our school! Thank you to Mrs. Gray and Miss Nelson for helping with the training process and Brandon Riss for organizing the Safety Patrol schedule. Thank you for the flexibility of the families in picking up their kids later while they are assisting.

The School Board has voted to move the last day of student classes to Friday, May 26, 2023 - requiring students to make up two of the five days missed due to weather. Staff will report through Friday, June 2, 2023.

March Madness is a fun time of year! In Miss Leloux's classroom, the third graders took on a three week reading challenge where students were divided into teams of 2-3 and went head to head against each other weekly to see who could read the most minutes outside of the classroom hours! It was so much fun to watch them work together, figure out the averages of team minutes, and push themselves to read with good sportsmanship at the forefront! We had two students read over 3,000 minutes in three weeks outside of school! How cool! Others read way more than they usually do too! Keep it up! Thanks for working hard third graders!

Look at these Soaring Eagles from the last week of March! They represented our school positively by being safe, respectful, and responsible! Nice job!

March Kids Care was a success because we were able to serve so many organizations again around our community! We helped at Ronald McDonald House, Banquet, St. Francis House, Scarbrough Daycare Center, downtown library, LifeScape, and DakotAbilities. Students who did not attend one of these services stayed at school to help with other projects like making blankets, etc. Thanks, Kristen Benidt, for setting these places up for us to volunteer! What a great experience for all! Thanks to the parents who drove!

The ACE 5th graders have been working hard in and out of class to prepare for their American Revolution Wax Museum! Each student made a poster and prepared a short speech about an important person from that time period. Students dressed and acted as their part at a Living Wax Museum Showcase for parents and other students! It was so fun to learn new facts about our past! Great job to Mrs. Gray's 5th graders!

ULE (gifted education) students have been busy at work the past couple of weeks designing, building, and testing their spaghetti bridges. They learned about the structure and designs that will be able to withstand the most weight. They loved competing against other students to see whose would hold up the longest! Thanks for always providing engaging and fun projects for our 3rd-5th grade ULE students, Mrs. Robinson! They love coming to ULE twice a week!

Thank you to Life Church for spoiling our teachers at their staff training this month! Love the basketball theme! Yummy food! Thank you!

Chess Club met for their final week to finish up their chess tournament! We have our top 6 six winners in a pic below! Way to go! Big thanks to the Yoder family for organizing this each week and working around musical practices and snow days! Thank you to David Kerkhove, our chess master, who led the lessons and guidance of chess. We are so fortunate to be able to have a chess club here at All City! What a great lifelong skill to pick up!

On March 30, we had a staff "recognition of service" breakfast for our Jane Addams staff who had 1, 5, 10, 15, or 20 years in the district. Thank you for your years of commitment to the Sioux Falls School District! We appreciate you! Congrats! Thanks for making a difference!

On March 27th, All City had another fundraiser at Pizza Ranch! It was a huge success because so many ACE families and friends came out and supported the night! A big thanks to everyone who came or ordered out to make it such a success! Big shout out to our parent and student volunteers who helped clear tables and greet patrons. Through 10% of sales from 5-8 pm graciously given from Pizza Ranch and tips given to our volunteer servers, we raised $837! Thank you again for your continued support! Way to go, ACE!

March 27th is our next school fundraiser for All City at the 41st Street Pizza Ranch from 5-8 pm. Come join us or order online! Please feel free to share this post and tell your friends and family! Thanks for the support!

Here are the Soaring Eagles for this busy musical week of March 20-24! Thanks for demonstrating qualities of being respectful, responsible, and safety!

Here are our Soaring Eagles from last week of March 13-17! Congrats on demonstrating great leadership qualities!

The All City and Elementary Immersion Center 3rd graders attended a concert at the Washington Pavilion on March 20th to watch the SD symphony perform!! Third graders got a chance to meet a docent from the symphony and Pavilion prior to the concert to discuss the various instruments and etiquette at a performance. Next year, students can choose to join the orchestra as a fourth grader so this opportunity helps peak their interests in possibly joining! It was a wonderful concert with so much talent!

SFSD would like to give a huge shout-out to our partners at Delta Dental who visit schools to complete much-needed dental work for eligible students! Cleanings, cavities, and root canals are all done in the mobile bus, so students don’t have to miss school for an appointment! You put a smile on our faces, Delta Dental! Thank you!
