On Tuesday, November 26, 4th grade ULE students participated in the SAM LAB Thanksgiving Parade Challenge! In this hands-on coding activity, students teamed up with a partner to design and build a movable car, replicating the helium balloons seen in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Inspired by the Lincoln High School Marching Band’s performance in this year’s parade and the children’s book Balloons Over Broadway, students also designed and engineered their own balloons, while programming a parade route to bring their creations to life. The 4th graders worked so hard on this challenge and had lots of fun doing so!

A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 27th, through Friday, November 29th. This season reminds us how much we have to be grateful for, especially our amazing students, staff, and families! Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Kindergarteners had a great time on Friday playing Candyland together! There are so many valuable social skills to learn while playing board games! What is your family's favorite board games to play together?

Miss Leloux's third graders went on a field trip to the Sanford Promise Research Center on Nov. 22. They learned how to find the DNA of a strawberry, what it takes to be a scientist, and got a tour of their lab where live research is happening! A few kids after the field trip said, "I want to be a scientist and work here someday!" 🥰 At ACE, we love to provide these opportunities for our students so they have exposure to all kinds of jobs out there and for a chance to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom walls! Way to go future scientists! Thank you to our parent volunteers for driving as well so we can have these experiences!!

Here are this week's High Flyers! Good job Eagle leaders for being respectful, responsible, and safe! Way to go!

Great job to our 1st and 2nd graders on their "Hats" performance! They sang beautifully! Also, great effort to our 4th and 5th graders learning new instruments for the symphony and band concert! Way to go! Keep working hard! Thank you, Mrs. Anderson, for all of your time and efforts!

Students in 2nd and 3rd grade have been busy in library making instruments from recyclable items that ties in with a fun book project they have been working on. They also got to do a little air hockey after picking out books.

Big thank you to all of the families who came out to support our Pizza Ranch fundraiser night! It was a huge success and we raised $921.17! Thank you to Karina Dachtler for lining it up and to Pizza Ranch on 41st for hosting us! Thanks to all of our volunteers who helped clean tables as well! Way to go ACE families!

The 4th and 5th graders had Kids Care last Friday! They helped at different organizations across the city and made blankets as gifts for the kids needing a new bed from the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace! The tie-blankets were delivered over the weekend! So sweet! The kids loved them! Thank you for your community service!
