SFSD schools start 2-hrs late Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Due to the amount of snow that fell with this winter storm and the time it will take for plows to get into residential neighborhoods, there will be No School, no practices and no activities tomorrow – Wednesday, January 4, 2023. District and school offices will be open.

In addition to there being NO SCHOOL today, an update now includes that SFSD Offices will also be closed on Tuesday, Jan 3, 2023.

Classes resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Early Childhood has been reading the book "The Gingerbread Man". Today they made him his own home.

Thank you to our friends at Scheel's for your generous donation to our school to help supply our students with winter gear.

Mrs. Orlando's class combined their knowledge of geometric shapes and fractions to build gingerbread math houses!

Give Your Child A Healthy Smile!
Nearly 1 in 4 South Dakota children has untreated tooth decay. It is the #1 chronic disease of childhood, but nearly 100% of cavities can be prevented.
A toothache can make it hard for a child to eat, sleep and pay attention at school. Untreated tooth decay can cause pain bad enough to miss school or even visit the emergency room.
Delta Dental has two trucks that travel the state giving quality dental care to children who can't afford or access a dentist because of cost, lack of insurance, transportation, or other reasons.
One of Delta Dental’s trucks is coming to our school:
Dates: January 17-20. 2023
Location: Laura B Anderson Elementary School
If your child has not seen an area dentist for two years this is a great way to give your child a healthy smile.
There is no cost to the child or family. No insurance is necessary. A full range of dental services are offered, including exams, cleanings, preventive treatments, and cavity fillings.
For more information contact: Laura B Anderson Elementary at 605-367-6130

Our band and orchestra had their concert this morning for the staff and students of LBA. They will repeat the performance later this evening at 6 pm for thier families. We hope you can join us.

Band and Orchestra Concert on Monday, December 12th at 8:30 am and 6:00 pm. Feel free to join us for either performance and support these young musicians.

Mr. Mendoza has started a recorder club at LBA. Students stay after school and work on learning how to play and have some fun too.

Attend & Achieve

Thank you to our friends at First Interstate Bank - N. Cliff Ave. branch - for the donation of winter gloves, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. They are greatly appreciated!

One of our second grade classrooms read the book Balloons over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade. The students designed and created their own balloons and then they paraded thru the school before Thanksgiving break.
