Student Council is sponsoring a fundraiser for Special Olympics this week, January 8-11! Students should give their donations to their Social Studies teachers. Let's see if we can raise $500 so Officer Drummond has to take the plunge!

Thank you to all the current mentors at Patrick Henry! We appreciate your time and the difference you are making! Do you know someone that would like to become a mentor? Mentors are community volunteers who meet with a student over their lunch period on a weekly basis. The impact these adults have on our students is incredible. Mentoring is a great way to get involved! Anyone interested will need to fill out an application for the Everyday Heroes mentoring program through Lutheran Social Services and select Patrick Henry as their preferred school. After applicants go through the training and complete a background check, our school counselors will match them with a student!
Check out a recent News clip about the need for Mentors in Sioux Falls! https://www.keloland.com/news/local-news/watching-them-grow-and-develop-as-a-person-need-for-mentors-in-sf/

Do you still want to purchase a yearbook? Tomorrow, Friday, January 5 is the final day for the Early Bird price of $20. Purchase online at https://yearbookforever.com/ or send $20.00 to school.

If your child is missing a coat, sweatshirt, water bottle, etc., please encourage them to check our Lost and Found located outside the Front Office/Auditorium. Anything left as of January 11, 2024 will be donated.

Good Luck to our Panther Athletes that are competing this week, January 3-6, 2024.

Staff and students enjoyed the days that led up to our winter break with fun dress-up days and activities. We are looking forward to reconnecting with students again tomorrow, Wednesday, January 3 and welcoming students back to Patrick Henry in 2024!

Patrick Henry had another visitor before Christmas! Can you guess who is disguised as the Grinch? Enjoy a fun video of staff on the last day before break! https://youtu.be/MUq6cDYm4Gc

Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday break!
Thank you to Mrs. Djonne, Mr. Hall and Mrs. Smallfield for being good sports and dressing up as Santa, his elf and reindeer!
*We will see you back at school on Wednesday, January 3, 2024!

Congratulations to our December Students of the Month! Being responsible, respectful and safe at Patrick Henry are the key ways to demonstrate Panther Pride! Way to go!

Check out the Panther Athletic Events for this week - December 18-23, 2023. Our Girls Basketball players have been working hard to learn and improve each day!

45 Patrick Henry musicians auditioned for All-State Band in grades 6-8. The audition process takes a lot of hard work and these students have improved so much through the process. The final audition results will be announced in January. In the meantime, these 45 students were rewarded with an ice cream sundae party. Way to set high goals and work to achieve them!

Show your Christmas Spirit during the week of December 18-21 and dress up according to theme for each day!

We want to recognize all of the students that auditioned for All-State Orchestra! 10 students from Patrick Henry qualified: Soobin, Kirsa, Julia, Benjamin, Alexandra, Kelsey, Katherine, Kynzey, Everett and Luci! There were over 190 auditions from 29 schools. This is a big accomplishment that requires extra time and dedication! Congratulations Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Larson and Students!
