Hello EMS Cat Families! Has your student lost something at school over the past semester? If they did, we probably found it! We have a huge number of clothing items, water bottles, and other items collected in our lost and found. If you see something that is yours, please make sure to have your student pick it up soon! We will be donating any unclaimed items at the end of the week. Thank you and GO CATS!

Hey Cats! We wanted to give a huge shout out to our Sioux Falls Middle School Poetry Slam contestants from Edison! They went out there, gave it their all, and brought the house down! We have some incredibly talented kids here at Edison and we are very proud of them! GO CATS!

For the second year in a row, the Sioux Falls School District is proud to be called one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association for Music Merchants Foundation. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our teachers, the commitment of our students, and to the close ties that have grown together over the years in our music education community. As we celebrate this recognition, let us also celebrate the power of music to inspire, educate, and unite us all.

Wow! SFSD is so grateful to the Sioux Falls STORM, LEVO, and media partners KELOLand TV for supporting Operation Hope & Caring where $18,417 was raised to support elementary schools that don't have PTAs/PTOs. We had a great time at the game and especially enjoyed the WIN! ❤️

Tonight is THE night! Come out to support SFSD elementary schools without PTAs/PTOs as the Sioux Falls STORM take on the Green Bay Blizzard. It's also Star Wars night, so wear your gear and bring your lightsaber to this fun family event sponsored by LEVO Credit Union!

The Weather Service indicates the greatest threat of severe weather did not materialize in Sioux Falls. We will begin our bus routes at approximately 3pm, so there will be a slight delay in getting elementary and middle school students home. High School dismisses at normal time.

Due to the weather 4-30-24, SFSD will hold all elementary students who walk or ride the bus until the system passes. We expect the system to arrive about 2:45pm and be done around 3pm. Busses will not leave the elementary schools until it is safe to do so. This will also cause a delay in middle school bus routes, so plan accordingly. If wx is still an issue at high school dismissal time, we will encourage students to wait to leave until the system passes. Thank you.

Weather may cause some challenges at school dismissal time today. SFSD will make plans with your child's safety as our highest priority. If there are changes, parents/guardians will be contacted immediately. We ask that you please monitor your phone and email closely.

Hey Edison Cats! April Fools came early at Edison this year! To celebrate, teachers dressed up as students for the day! How do you think our Science Team did?

Hey Edison Cats! Last week we had many students from our OSO class visit Augustana to learn about the opportunities available to them and perhaps a few future career paths! The students had a blast! Thank you, Mr. Daudt for organizing such a fun and informative field trip for our students at Edison!

Plans are in the works for SFSD students and staff to bring electronic devices home over the weekend in the event that winter weather presents challenges on Monday. Refresh your memory now about the new remote learning plan by using the QR code on the image. We'll keep you posted if there are any schedule changes for Monday.

Hey Edison Cats! We absolutely HAVE to give a giant shout-out to Ms. Erica Mason, a 7th Grade Special Education Teacher here at Edison Middle School! Ms. Mason was nominated for Special Education Staff of the Year by the Sioux Falls School District! She is being celebrated for all of her hard work and dedication to the students at Edison. We are very proud of you Ms. Mason!

Hey Cats! We wanted to give a HUGE shout-out to Coach Emily Deinken and the EMS Dance Team! They were AMAZING this past week and absolutely brought the house down at Ben Reifel during their Dance Showcase! We are very proud of the team and all the work that they have put in!
