October is National Principal Month! Last week you learned some facts about our principal, Mr. Tim Hazlett. This week, you are going to be reading some facts about Mr. Mark Hofer.
"I have been at Roosevelt for 14 years and in my 41st year in education. I have been married for 38 years and have 4 children and eleven grandchildren. Enjoy boating, camping, golfing, and watching the activities of the grandkids!"
Interesting Fact: I played baseball while attending South Dakota State University.

JROTC had an amazing opportunity on Wednesday! They got to meet Congressman Dusty Johnson. They talked about their program on where they started and how far it has come this past couple of years. They are excited for what the future holds. It was such a wonderful time for this young leaders.



Reminder: No school on Monday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 15.


Come out and support RHS this Sunday, October 13. Come and grab some goodies from 12pm- 4pm on the corner of 41st and Sertoma. This is a fundraiser for a trip to Costa Rica. There will be so many goodies and treats. All ingredients will be listed on the treats!


Interested in traveling to Costa Rica? This could your chance! Roosevelt has four spots open for any high school aged children wanted to travel the world for an affordable price. We have been planning this trip for over a year now. The trip will take place in the summer of 2025.
This is a 9 day trip and EVERYTHING is included:

They will be hosting fundraisers along the way so don't let the price be in the way for this amazing opportunity. There is a payment plan!

October is National Principals' Month! Here is a little bit about our wonderful Principal, Mr. Tim Hazlett.
"I started at RHS in 2010-2011 as and assistant Principal and have been the head principal since 2011-2012. This is my 14th year as the Principal of RHS! Prior to that I was and assistant principal for 4 years at Lincoln High School and 2 years as the Principal at Canton High School, all total I have been a Principal for 21 years!"
Interesting fact: When I was in college at Augustana, I coached football and basketball at RHS and competed my student teaching in Special Education at RHS as well.


Calling all chess enthusiasts! Join us for the next Chess Club Meeting on October 10 after school in room A150. Whether you're new to the game or a seasoned player, everyone is welcome!

On Friday, students attended the Riders Festival! This was right after the football game! Students were able to play games, hang out with teacher and friends, and even have delicious food from food trucks. It was a great time!

It was Air Force's 77th Birthday on Wednesday! Air Force JROTC celebrated each class period with cake (of course)! They had the youngest and oldest in each period cut the cake as they celebrated our proud AF heritage. The AF was established on Sept 18th 1947 and is the second youngest branch of the Armed Forces. It was a great time and fun for everyone!

Check out what has been happening at RHS! Ms. Straus toke her AP Environmental Science classes to Pasque Hill on Beaver Creek. The students were learning about what makes up soil, the importance of soil, and how to keep it healthy.
